My office is not big enough to contain my excitement heading into this weekend, and for that reason I am glad that we are breaking early to enjoy some beverages and playtest a couple of game ideas. Tonight I’m meeting my oldest nephew (He’s 16! Almost 17! What’s up with that!) and a couple of his friends to go see Silence! The Musical, a parody of Silence of the Lambs in a little theater in the East Village. It should be interesting!
Then, tomorrow, my crazy little sister who can’t sit still is coming to visit! She lives in Washington, D.C., and has had a string of busy, travel-filled weekends. This weekend she didn’t have anything lined up, so what did she do? She found a deal on bus tickets to come visit me in the Big Apple! Personally, as the gal who gets almost as excited about weekends with no plans as weekends with awesome plans, I think she’s nuts, but I can’t really complain because I’m excited to see her!

Me and my lil sis in Disney World 3 weeks ago, which was the last time I saw her!
I’m meeting her at the bus station, and then whisking her off to Brooklyn to hear Meg of A Practical Wedding talk about her fancy new book! I am legitimately stoked about this, because the ladies I’ve met through APW are awesome, and this event is bringing so many of them together at the same time! Also, I am thrilled to get to cheer Meg on (and maybe even get my copy of her book signed!). I’m also looking forward to the after party, of course.
Other than that, our plans are totally flexible, and I’m excited to get out there and enjoy the weirdly warm winter weather (alliteration EVERYWHERE) around the city with my sister. My half birthday was this week, and I’ve got a running list of things in NYC that I want to do/see before I turn 27 and am officially an old lady.
Me on my 26th and a half birthday. And just like that, I sneakily incorporated a photo of me with and without my glasses so you'll recognize me at the book talk this weekend, HA!
Ha ha- just reading your little about me blurb and I like you already! And then to see that you went to Meg’s Party….yep, we can be friends!
Mostly I was just stopping by to say hello + welcome to handwritten though. Excited to have you! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to kill some time wandering around your blog…
